Jewellery Magic...

I'm always on the lookout for other designers - it's always wonderful to find someone new, with interesting, original work.
The most brilliant person I've stumbled across lately has to be Victoria Lansford, who creates the most beautiful work. Her russian filigree cuff is stunning!
Go look!

New(ish) ring

I love trying new things...
So I was really happy a few weeks ago when my Mum handed me a massive bag of seashells that she'd bought while visiting Clovelly, on the coast.

I used one of them to help me add texture a a ring I was making, and Voila!

I'm pretty pleased with it. :)

And yes, I used some of the other shells as a background for the photo; there's a use for everything!

Experimentation

I love trying new things, and while I now work mostly in Metal Clay, I still like to work in wire from time to time.
I recently got hold of the ribbon ring tutorial from Eni Oken, and gave it a go.
I ran out of paper before the tutorial was fully printed, so I tweaked the end.
The sides are woven, and the ends of the wire are spiralled as opposed to being woven...but Im happy with it for a first try.
Woven from Copper, with a Blue Sodalite stone.

I recently got my hands on the latest (or maybe seasonal) copy of step by step wire magazine...
Some of the companies featured in it have amazing stuff - it makes me want to go shopping!
:)
A couple that I really am desperate to buy from now are Silk painting is Fun, a company which stocks the most gorgeously coloured silk strings and ribbons, and My Elements by Yvonne - the first company I've managed to find that sell coloured chain!
I also saw an ad for Shiana, a company i'd heard of but forgotten about, who stock fair-trade items like black silver and flower head pins.
Roll on Christmas!

New Site, Relaunch of some items...

My new site's been up for a little while now, but I hadn't added the prices for items.

Click on the links below the images to visit my Folksy.com site and purchase items!

Two items are now priced and available:

I'm aiming to add more items over the New Year Period, especially if all goes to plan and I get hold of a new kiln. :)
